An avid woodworker, Michael Mortemore, has been making wooden things for over 20 years in his garage. He has made furniture, wooden toys, arks, animals, tops and now boxes.

He uses both local woods found in Eugene, OR and exotic woods from all over the world.

He was born in Ypsilanti, Michigan but spent all of his childhood growing up in Laupahoehoe, Hawaii and has a fondness for the Hawaiian wood, Koa. Most of his designs somehow incorporate Hawaiian themes.
